These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the HomeCamCheck macOS application and related documentation published by Precellence. By downloading, installing, or using HomeCamCheck, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
HomeCamCheck provides local camera preview, on-device person detection, optional alerts, optional local video archive, and optional local network integration (webhook and H.264 stream) on your Mac.
Video analysis runs on your Mac. Precellence does not operate a cloud video backend for HomeCamCheck.
2. Subscription (HomeCamCheck Pro)
Some features require an active HomeCamCheck Pro subscription purchased through the Mac App Store.
- Billing: Apple charges your Apple ID account. Precellence does not process payment card data.
- Free trial: New subscribers may receive a 14-day free trial when offered by Apple. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid yearly plan.
- Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management: Cancel or manage your subscription in System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions (or the App Store account settings on your Mac).
- Restore: Use Restore purchases in the app if you reinstall or change Macs.
Prices and trial eligibility are shown in the app and on the App Store product page.
3. License
Subject to these Terms and your valid subscription (where required), Precellence grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HomeCamCheck on Mac computers you own or control, through the Mac App Store, for lawful personal or internal use.
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law
- Redistribute, sublicense, or sell the app or derived works
- Use the app to violate privacy, surveillance, or other applicable laws

4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:

- Cameras and equipment you connect to the app
- Optional integrations you enable (Telegram, SMS providers, Homebridge, Home Assistant, etc.) and credentials you store in the app
- Network exposure if you disable localhost-only mode for the live stream or expose services beyond your Mac
HomeCamCheck is intended for monitoring your own premises and devices with appropriate authorization.
5. Optional third-party services
If you enable Telegram, SMS, or other external services, you use them under their terms and privacy policies. Precellence is not responsible for third-party delivery, outages, or charges (e.g. SMS fees from Twilio, Vonage, OVH, or your mobile operator).
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information. Summary: processing is local on your Mac; Precellence does not sell your data; optional alerts send data only to services you configure.
7. Disclaimers
HomeCamCheck is provided “as is” and “as available”. Detection is automated and may produce false positives or miss events. Do not rely on the app as your only safety, security, or emergency system.

8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Precellence shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of HomeCamCheck or optional integrations.
